Why I Wag My Tail
Helen Morris (Human)
I grew up loving on all animals "especially dogs". As a teenager I trained horses for show and barrel racing. I strayed away from animals and began holding different jobs, but something was missing. I wanted to do something I loved that would enrich not only my life, but the lives of dogs and their humans. I decided to go back to school to become a dog trainer. I am now an ABCDT Certified Dog Trainer, American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen Evaluator (AKC/CGC), and I am two tests away from passing my Canine Specialist Certification. After jumping through hoops, I opened my dog training business 3 years ago. I offer private training, Puppy Manners Classes, and Basic Obedience training. I’ll soon be introducing AKC/CGC and AKC - S.T.A.R. Puppy Classes.
Buddy (Border Collie)
Hi! My name is “Buddy” the “Border Collie”.
When I was just 8 weeks old I got to go live with my Ma and Wolf Dad. I had no idea at the time all the fun things my Ma would teach me; you see I didn’t know she was a dog trainer. She taught me sit down, come and all sorts of other fun stuff. I really like when we do spins and circles. I know all kinds of tricks and I even pick up my toys and put them back in my basket. My favorite thing is when she takes me to Agility class; I get to jump over jumps, run through tunnels and all sorts of other obstacles. We also have 20 acres and I go out with my parents and I get to “herd” the birds.
Now I’m almost 4 years old and I get to go to class with my Ma when she is teaching the other puppies and dogs how to do the things she taught me. My favorite part about that is I get to show them how it’s done and I think I’m really something.
I love my life; I’m living like a Border Collie should.
